God’s Word Proclaimed

Anybody who seeks God, God will find.  To Jesus, the “works” were not as important as the “word.”  Jesus came to preach the Good News of God’s love for all people.  Our mission is to share God’s hope for our lives and the world with others.

Our services follow the reformed order of worship.  God calls us to worship.  We hear God’s Word proclaimed.  We respond to the Word.  We take the Word into the world.  At the heart of our worship, we all recognize our salvation is through the works of Jesus Christ and not by our own.

Through this order of worship, we hear and respond to the word through the morning message and the children’s sermon, through the hymns we sing, through Bible Study, through special music, and through fellowship with each.  We take the Word to the world through our interaction with others in our daily lives.

We hear the Word from Pastor Deb on Sunday morning.

Young people have the opportunity to hear the Word each Sunday during the children’s time with Pastor Deb.

Children’s Time

Each worship service includes a children’s sermon.  Youngsters present in the service are invited to join the Pastor at the altar steps where they can hear the Word in a more simplified format.

Bible Study

We continue our study of the Word through a Bible study group that meets every Friday morning from 8 to 9 a.m.  Meeting time was chosen in order to accommodate those who have to be at work at 9 a.m. and every attempt is made to close on time.  This group is open to everyone with attendance ranging from five to ten.  Study and discussion topics are chosen by the group.  Topics and materials have included current literature and materials produced by the Presbyterian Church.  This easy-going, friendly, and flexible group invites anyone who is interested in learning more about the Bible and our church in general to join us at 8 a.m. on Friday mornings.                                                                                                  Back to Top

Music

We often hear the Word through special music and for some people, singing praises to God or sharing their musical talent is the way they worship most comfortably.  FPC choir sings every second Sunday and all are welcome to join the choir as we make a joyful noise unto the Lord.  Additionally, FPC is blessed with many talented musicians who provide special music on a regular basis.  These include vocal solos and ensembles, instrumental solos and ensembles, string instrument solos and ensembles, harp music, piano and organ solos and duets, and musical saw solos.                                                                                                                    Back to Top
